We were given Jim's name by an agent from a different area. We had not yet decided on exactly where or what we were looking for, either land to build on or a house. Jim was always enthusiastic about showing us any property and we asked to see many and varied ones. He always pointed out the pros and cons. He walked the properties with my husband and was knowledgeable about the area. We would use Jim anytime we need an agent. We would and have recommend him.

I've known Jim for about 15 years before he entered the real estate business when he was a lumber salesman and I was in furniture manufacturing, he was a person of honesty and integrity. So when I retired about 2 years ago and my wife and I decided to buy a cottage for our retirement I had no hesitation calling Jim to search for a property for us as he had informed me when he retired from the lumber business that he was now a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker in South River. He showed us numerous properties on a number of occasions but if Jim noticed some conditions or flaws he would tell us. Through patience and perseverance Jim found us the property that had all the features and amenities that we were looking for. For those reasons I would not hesitate to recommend Jim to anyone looking to purchase a recreational property in Muskoka.

I am a retired lawyer and judge. I have bought and sold residences in several countries in which I have worked and lived over the years. I have never been inclined to provide a testimonial in favour of a real estate agent .
However, I have no hesitation in doing so in the case of Jim Stephenson of the South River office of Coldwell Banker Thompson Real Estate. He acted for me as the listing agent for my modest summer cottage on Deer Lake in Parry Sound District. This was an extremely difficult task as the cottage is fairly basic, without road access, well or septic due to the nature of the terrain. Showing the property involved walking in to it over a shoreline path. From the start, Jim was enthusiastic about the property despite its drawbacks. He was obliged to discuss the property in detail with the many potential buyers who inquired. Despite the difficulties in marketing and showing this difficult property, Jim did so with skill and enthusiasm. He hiked in to the cottage with many potential buyers over a period of several months until the right buyers were found.  I’ve had bad experiences with real estate agents in the past, but I found Jim to be very professional and quite conscious of his fiduciary duties. In particular I found his feedback  after each showing most helpful in allowing me to adjust  price and marketing strategy.
I would not hesitate to recommend Jim as an agent for buyers or sellers.
